Those rainy days..

Today was one of those days when nothing felt more right than snuggling up on the sofa with a nice breakfast, a warm blanket and a British classic on the tv. The rain poured down outside, and I was finally well rested after a long week and a couple of exhausting days worrying for our minipig Molly, who suddenly felt very poorly on Thursday afternoon. I slept with her on the sofa that night, and we had the vet here on Friday. She responded well to the antibiotics, but I didn’t want to leave her side the whole day just in case. A night of bad sleeping and days of worrying had me exhausted, so it was lovely to finally rest up in my bed last night.

And today, as it was raining and Molly were back to her old self again so I didn’t have anything to worry about, I spent most of the day on the sofa watching Pride and Prejudice (2005). About time I’d say, as fond as I am of the British classics. Yesterday, while looking after Molly, I watched Sense and Sensibility (1995). Two  very beautiful movies, yet with kind of similar stories with great casts. I love the athmosphere in those movies, the soft piano music, the lovely dresses, the etiquette of the era, the beautiful houses and mansions and the always wonderful English landscape.

I wonder why I haven’t watched those movies before, because they were both gorgeous. I think I am in an English period drama-phase right now, as I just want to watch more of them. Next up on my watchlist is Becoming Jane (2007) and Victoria (2012), a Norwegian movie set to about the same time. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know!

I’ll be watching these next as they feature in my collection. And as I mentioned in a post earlier this year, I’m trying to watch all those I haven’t seen yet  before 2016 is over. Not doing it alphabetically any more though, as it depends on my mood what I want to watch. Like the need for period dramas at the moment.

Back to today, all in all I had a very relaxing day snuggling with Molly on the couch and pottering about the house. I have loads of work that should’ve been done outside, but nothing seemed important enough today (except from feeding and the usual chores of course). Today, I decided, was a “me-day”. And it was well needed, as I have been very busy the past weeks with work, spring chores like planting seeds and caring for the garden, train the horses and trying to do some housework on top of that.

So today I had a rest up, and tomorrow I guess everything will be back to normal. Fingers crossed for decent weather, so I can get some stuff done around the farm!
